'Drunk bus' to feature in Glasgow 5-year crime plan

Glasgow's plans for reducing violence in the city centre, where 350 incidents take place around pubs and clubs each month, have been outlined.

One idea is a 'drunk bus' which will tour hotspaots at night and enable support staff who to deliver help, advice and shelter to revellers or people who feel threatened. Funding and support may also be offered to enable drunks to find their way home after a skinful.

The Edinburgh Violence Reduction Programme is combination of  the city's licensed trade, health workers and police, coming together to combat violence. The new five-year programme will involve targeting troublespots around the city centre's 300 pubs, 100 off-sales and 50 night-clubs and casinos.
