Business crime reduction partnership planned for North Staffs
Staffordshire Police plans to set up a business crime scheme in the next six months after senior officers met the North Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NSCCI).
A recent chamber survey showed 68 per cent of respondents had experienced crime during the past 12 months, and more than half did not report crimes. The details of the business crime scheme are still being worked out, and it is not expected to be up-and-running until the winter. The proposals come after Staffordshire Police adopted crime against business as one of its 10 key performance indicators. Superintendent John Drake said the force takes the issue very seriously. "We recognise that business crime is an important area because a lot of people spend half of their lives at work, so the service they get there is clearly important." A new scheme to help keep business crime at bay in Staffordshire was launched last week. Partnerships Against Business Crime In Staffordshire - PABCIS - enables all business crime partnerships across the county to share intelligence about offenders, to reduce crime.
