Police offer free loss-prevention course for retailers

Police in the Colchester and Tendring areas are offering retail businesses the chance to improve on loss prevention by offering training courses to improve their skills.

Local businesses can nominate their loss prevention officers to take part in a free one-day course which includes statement training, improving CCTV evidence and court skills.

Divisional training officer PC Mark Talbot said: “Any company across Colchester and Tendring can put forward their loss prevention officer to take part in the training and already we have had some very positive feedback from the companies which have already taken part. We would like more companies to come forward and take part as the training is invaluable in improving how incidents are dealt with and getting a higher number of convictions.”
