Shopping centre sets up ASBO 'Wall of Shame'

Shoppers in a shopping centre in Hartlepool are being asked to keep an eye open for three prolific offenders who are banned from the centre. A 'Wall of Shame' has been set up to help.

The three offenders have been given anti-social behaviour orders banning them from Middleton Grange Shopping Centre in Hartlepool. They face being arrested, and could go to prison if they are caught stepping foot inside the complex under the strict terms of the orders.

Following the establishment of 'Walls of Shame' in other shopping centres in the UK, a noticeboard featuring posters of the trio has been put up in the centre's Central Square after police were approached by businesses. Mark Rycraft, manager at Middleton Grange, said the name and shame exercise is part of the centre's zero tolerance stance on bad behaviour.
