Halloween ban on eggs and flour in Birmingham

Kids are being banned from buying eggs and flour in a bid to prevent Halloween disturbances on the streets of Birmingham.

Police have teamed up with shops over trick-or-treat stunts amid fears that youngsters will pelt each other or 'egg' homes and cars after residents have sent trick-or-treaters away empty-handed.

The ban is now being advertised in stores with posters drawn up featuring the message: “This shop is operating a restriction on the sale of egg and flour to younger people.” Stechford-based neighbourhood policing teams have already been distributing letters and posters to retailers advising them to restrict the sale to groups of teenagers during Halloween.
