Head-cam footage to be shown to parents

Parents in Anglesea will be able to see what happens when their children are caught drinking or causing trouble in the community. Evidence recorded by head-cams will be shown to them.

The headcams have been bought by the Ynys Mon Community Safety Partnership and will be worn for a trial period by North Wales Police Community Support Officers.

Following a drink-related incident, the child or young person will be taken home by the police, and a follow-up visit will be arranged to view the recorded evidence which can be transferred onto a laptop or DVD and shown to parents or guardians in their living rooms.

The hope is that parents who are presented with irrefutable proof of any wrongdoing will take greater responsibility for their children, to avoid any harsher penalties being imposed.
