Pioneering under-age drink-reduction agency to hold conference
The Straight-Line Project set up to tackle under-age drinking in Hartlepool is to host a conference to highlight its work.
The Straight-Line Project conference is to be held on December 4 at Hartlepool to give agencies from across the UK a chance to find out more about the way it educates young people and their parents about the dangers of alcohol. Straight-Line was launched in 2004 as a Safer Hartlepool Partnership initiative and provides specialist advice and support on the effects of alcohol through home visits and workshops. The conference has been arranged after Straight-Line attended the Alcohol and Young People Summit in London and were surprised to discover that they were the only support team in the country providing such a service. Attendance at the event is by application only, and further information is available from Sharon Robson on 01429-285782 or sharon.robson2@nhs.net For more on this item from The Northern Echo, click here
