Alcohol safety message on milk cartons
|
| Asda spells it out... |
Grampian Police have been working in partnership with Asda to provide milk cartons advertising tips on personal safety and responsible drinking in the run up to Christmas.
This is the first time a Police Force in the UK has worked in partnership with a supermarket in advertising a safety campaign, which will see the milk cartons being distributed throughout Asda stores across the North east of Scotland. The cartons, which will be distributed in both the Grampian and Tayside Police regions, will feature concise bullet points to catch the reader's attention and stress a clear message of safety to festive party goers. During the festive period, individuals who are not used to the effects of alcohol may drink to excess and the result can be that some people find themselves in a vulnerable position. The idea for utilising milk cartons was that of Constable Gordon Macdonald of Aberdeen Division's Crime Reduction Unit. "We want folk to enjoy themselves safely and by working in partnership with Asda, we hope that we can get the message out to a wide audience about the dangers of excessive drinking as we strive to keep our communities safe."
