Taxi business cards to promote safety message
Grampian police have joined forces with two of Aberdeen's biggest taxi firms to promote sensible drinking and a 'get home safe' message in the run up to Christmas.
The police, working with ComCab and Rainbow City Taxis, have produced business cards which taxi drivers will hand out to passengers on each journey over the next few weeks. The business cards have the taxi firm number on one side with the Grampian Police safety message - under the banner of ''a moment of madness'' - on the other side. The message is to remind people to stay safe, drink responsibly and to consider how they are going to get home safe. Constable Jim Watson of the Forces Crime Reduction unit stated: "Both taxi firms carry out thousands of journeys to and from the city centre over the weekend and this is an ideal way to reach the public with this message.''
