Dummies promote Christmas anti-booze message

Mannequins depicting young people in a drunken state are being used in shop windows to deter binge drinking in Grimsby, in north-east Lincolnshire.

The mannequins, in Victoria Street in Grimsby, are accompanied by a message which asks: "You wouldn't start a night like this, so why end it that way?" Leaflets with tips on how to have a safe night out are also being handed out in the town centre.

The moves are part of a bid to curb binge drinking over the festive period. Bars and clubs are supporting the initiative by putting campaign posters in their toilets.
