Clubs work together to ensure under-18 ban

Under-18s have been warned they could be banned from all Edinburgh clubs as part of a new campaign which aims to stop underage youngsters from using fake ID to get into clubs has been launched.

Scotland's justice secretary Kenny MacAskill has teamed up with club bosses in Edinburgh to unveil the initiative which aims to publicise the risks underage revellers face if they are caught using false or fake ID.

They face being banned from every nightclub in the city until six months after their 18th birthday as well as the possibility of police involvement. Posters promoting the "Is is worth it?" campaign will be put up in clubs, schools and other public places, while work in schools and youth clubs will also be undertaken.
