CCTV generated 280 arrests in Surrey district last year
Nearly 300 arrests were made across Staines, Ashford, Shepperton, Sunbury Cross and Stanwell, Surrey, in the past year due to crimes being captured on CCTV.
Figures from Spelthorne Council show more than 1,000 incidents were recorded on the borough's CCTV system between April 2008 and March 2009. Police attended on more than 750 occasions making 280 arrests. For the rest of this item from Staines News click here
