Intranet site to be launched to help reduce shoplifting

A private website containing images of shoplifters will be trialed by 60 businesses in Staines. The intranet site displays names, pictures and descriptions of shoplifters.

The intranet, supplied by BCRP Intranet,  is being offered by the Staines Business Crime Reduction Partnership, Staisafe, which also provides a radio link scheme for retailers, with financial support from the Spelthorne Safer Stronger Partnership.

The Intranet will be available to all businesses and will start at a fee of less than £2 per week.
