BCRP Intranet launches SMS tool for urgent messages

A new SMS Messaging tool has been launched by Littoralis for users of its secure intranet systems. Now administrators can send SMS or 'text' messages to members direct from BCRP Intranet - which is now in use in almost 50 crime reduction partnerships throughout the UK.

The new SMS Module provides BCRP Intranet administrators with a direct method of communicating urgent, important messages - anything from a lost child to a fire alarm, or worse. Not only are SMS messages immediate, they also reach members even when they're not close to a computer or smart-phone.

The SMS Module also helps link up with members who will not or - as in the case of some managers who are not allowed to access the public intranet and therefore your intranets - cannot do so.

The new system is available as an add-on to Littoralis' BCRP Intranet product - for town and city-centre shopwatch or other crime reduction schemes - as well its new Safer Premisess Intranet - for use in peripheral, out-of-town or rural crime reduction partnerships.

Sending SMS messages is simple. Intranet administrators or, optionally, authors, simply type their message into a field in their inrtanet's management page, and click 'Send Message'. Almost instantaneously, all members who have provided their mobile numbers will receive the text message on their phones.
