Littoralis launches free 'App' add-on for BCRP Intranet users

BCRP Intranet now has an App for Smartphones. The App is available free to all existing users of the product - which is in use in more than 40 business crime reduction partnerships in the UK.

More and more users of BCRP Intranet have been viewing mugshots of 'persons of interest' on their Smartphones which they carry around with them at work. The portable devices are especially convenient for security staff in retail environments or pubs and clubs who want to check if an individual is excluded by members of their partnership.

"It's this growing demand from users that lead us to develop our App" explains Littoralis director Dave Platten. "So we have now developed a special browseable list of mugshots, optimised for Smartphones such as the i-Phone and Androids. Once logged in, users can swiftly scroll down a list of names, with mugshots each displaying icons showing which of them are excluded by members of their partnerships"

The new App has another valuable feature too. "I-Phones and other Smartphones are great for displaying information where and when you need it" says Platten.  "But of course the devices are small and very fiddly if you actually want to submit incident reports, which have to contain a good deal of detail.  So that's where our unique 'Remind me' function comes in."

If a user wants to submit an incident report about someone displayed on the browseable list, he or she can click on a 'Remind me' link
The automatic 'Remind me' email
displayed in the App.  This immediately generates an email to the user which they can open later, when they're sitting at a desk-top or lap-top computer - much more practical for entering incident reports.

The email confirms the time and date of the email, and features a click-on link to the BCRP Intranet Incident Report form, ready-loaded with the name and other relevant personal details of the offender involved. "The user just clicks on the link and goes straight to the form while the incident is still fresh in the user's mind."
