Series of regional conferences announced by Partnerships Against Crime
Partnerships Against Crime has announced the venue and date of the first of its series of subsidised regional conferences for 2012. The conference - entitled 'Exclusion Schemes: reducing high street crime and anti-social behaviour' - is to be held at Bristol Novotel on July 5th.
Partnerships Against Crime (PAC) is a consortium of private and public organisations which has come together to promote the development and spread of crime reduction partnerships in the UK. It's main activity is to subsidise an annual series of regional conferences around the UK. This year the conferences focus on: Exclusion Schemes: reducing high street crime and anti-social behaviour. Each subsidised conference (the cost of a ticket for the full day event including delegates pack, tea and coffee breaks and a full luncheon is just £45) will feature speakers from national organisations such as the Association of Business Crime Partnerships as well as individuals with practical local and regional experience of setting up and maintaining successful exclusion schemes. With the economic spotlight on police funding cuts and the decline of the British high street, the conferences have come at a good time. According to conference chair, Gabi Stirling editor of CRP News (which is promoting the conferences free of charge): "Exclusion schemes can fill a gap between police capacity and local expections - a gap which is only set to become wider in the years ahead. "These conferences will 'spread the word' and should help local councils, police and business leaders get a clearer idea of the enormous positive contribution that exclusion schemes can make to the reduction of low-level crime and anti-social behaviour in our town and city centres".. Places at each conference are limited so early booking is advised. For more information on PAC and its regional conference programme visit the PAC website at www.partnershipsagainstcrime.com
