Maidstone BCRP wins £90,000 grant
Maidstone Business Crime Partnership - Maidsafe - has won £90,000 from the government's 'Building Safe and Active Communities' project to develop projects to manage the evening economy.
Maidstone is one of only 10 areas awarded such funding. Bill Moss, town centre manager for Maidstone said, 'We are delighted that our efforts to manage the evening economy and to reduce crime and disorder there, which does have a knock-on effect on the retail and day-time economy, have been recognised. We will be using the funding to further enhance our presence and in particular, our work with young people.' There are other items on the success of the exclusion scheme in Maidstone and some interesting statistics on 'pre-loading' by clubbers, identified through voluntary breathalyser tests administered in the Maidsafe Blue Bus.
