The German Shepherd, has snapped up the title of Britain’s best police dog, after catching at least one crook every three days. He has made an incredible 142 arrests in 2012 making him and his handler the most successful cop and dog partnership of the past 12 months.
Together with PC Matt Holding, of Staffordshire Police, the pair form an unbeatable bond since Visco was imported from Germany.
Among Visco’s notable feats this year was his efforts detaining a violent thug who punched and kicked him during a fractious English Defence League march in Hanley, Stoke-on Trent.
Despite being roughed up by the lout, after one of the mob had struck a female officer in the back of the head, Visco cornered the attacker who was later jailed for two-and-a-half years.
The dog received a judge commendation into the bargain.
Matt said: “We work as a team and we’ve established a very strong bond.I have to believe in Visco and visa versa, we depend on each other.
