AABC NEWS: City Watch Leicester sets up Facebook group

City Watch Leicester Against Crime now has over 200 members (an increase of over 70% in the last 18 months) and believes that it is the first Business Crime Reduction Partnership to launch on FaceBook

The partnership already disseminates intelligence to over 50% of its membership and is looking at ways to increase this in coming months. The addition of the FaceBook group is not to pass on intelligence but to add a further feature to the partnership. The group is set up as private and can only be joined by request and will be administered by the City Watch office. The group will be used to share good practice and remind members of forthcoming intelligence meetings and other events and news and also direct members to up-to-date news stories on a range of other websites that City watch believe will aid crime prevention.
